1 teaspoon of salt and sugar; 2.5 cups flour; glass of water; 50 g of butter and olive oil; egg; small bag of yeast; 0.1 kg of cheese; 2 cloves of garlic and herbs (parsley or basil).

You can replace dry yeast with pressed, for this, increase the proportion by three times and measure out 30 g.

First, make a dough, its recipe is very simple:

  1. Heat the water.
  2. Pour in yeast and a spoonful of sugar.
  3. Stir until a homogeneous solution is obtained.

The recipe for these buns fell into my hands more than 3 years ago, since that time they have become one of my favorites. They are very tasty to serve with coffee, greased with butter, or, for example, instead of bread, they can be served with soup or borscht. Well, I really love them just with tomato juice.

To make buns, we need hard cheese, wheat flour, fast-acting yeast, sugar, salt, warm water and vegetable oil.

Add yeast and sugar, 1.5 cups flour to warm water. Stir well. Then add oil.

Grate hard cheese and add to the dough. Add the remaining flour gradually. Knead a smooth dough and leave in a warm place for 1.5 hours to approach.

Then knead the dough and divide into 12 approximately equal pieces. Roll the balls, wet your hands with sunflower oil.

Cover a baking sheet with baking paper, place the buns at a good distance from each other. Leave to proof for another 20 minutes.

Beat the egg with a fork, grease the buns well

and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Bake the buns for 25 minutes until tender. Cool the finished buns by placing them on a wire rack and covering them with a towel.

Now we start to cook yeast buns in the oven.

1. Pour a glass of warm water into a deep bowl. Add dry instant yeast, granulated sugar and salt. We mix everything. Add three tablespoons of vegetable oil and one egg. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth.
In a bowl with the resulting mixture, sift the wheat flour in portions and knead the dough. It should be soft and elastic. Cover the bowl with the dough with cling film or a napkin and put it in a warm place for an hour and a half.

2. Lightly sprinkle the work surface with flour and put the dough that has come up on the table. We roll out the dough into a layer, the thickness of which is about one centimeter.
Now we are preparing the filling for the buns. Melt the butter and add the garlic cloves passed through a press to it. Mix everything well. Lubricate the formation surface with the resulting mixture.

3. Rinse fresh herbs, shake off and grind. Rub hard cheese on a medium grater. Put grated cheese on a greased layer of dough and distribute it evenly over the entire surface. Salt and pepper lightly. Sprinkle with chopped herbs on top. Grease the dough along the edge with water. Now we carefully roll up into a roll and cut into pieces, about four centimeters thick.

4. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and place the cheese rolls on it. Let it brew in a warm place for about forty minutes. in the meantime, turn on the oven and heat it up to two hundred degrees. Grease the buns with melted butter and put in the oven.
