But during the day, summer heat reigns supreme. This is what deceptively makes cucumbers outgrow and even overripe very quickly. You miss a moment a little, and instead of thin beauties you get such “beads”.

My cucumbers have a hooligan habit. They hide from me, taking advantage of the blindness of the hostess. It seems to have collected everything, but no - in the evening I notice a couple more, then another. And not all of them differ in salting conditions. We have to be creative in order to utilize the entire crop of our modest cucumber "plantation".

A long time ago, when ladies in evening dresses and men in strict "office" suits still went to the first Moscow McDonald's, I liked the taste of cucumber "McDonald's salad". We didn’t have love with fast food, but I still cook and prepare a similar salad for the winter from overgrown and even overripe cucumbers.

How to cook

  • Remove seeds from washed peppers. Remove skin from onion. Chop vegetables, including pickled or pickled cucumbers, into small cubes.
